Description
Unique and dramatic is the best way to describe this historic Warren stately property. Charles Wheaton, Jr., (1791-1863) grew up in Warren and married Abiah Goodwin Turner in 1815, the daughter of a wealthy sea captain. Around the time of their marriage, they built this house on Liberty Street in Warren in the Federal style with a three bay façade and portico at the entrance with Ionic columns. By the end of the 19th century, the house was enlarged and a bay window was added over the Classical portico and a monitor on hip-roof. The home has been occuppied by the current family for generations and is currently zoned as a two family and may be maintained this way, or converted to a large single family. It offers a unique layout with multiple bedrooms and baths. Sitting on a corner lot on this quaint street and located within a block to some of the most desirable establishments on the East Bay, this is a not to miss property.
